In the postal system, there are 8 administrative divisions. Each division contains multiple districts. Click any division to explore its postal codes.
Bangladesh's postal codes consist of four digits. The first two digits represent the head post office of a main regional town, while the last two digits identify a specific thana or secondary sub-office within that region. For example, 1000 is the code for Dhaka GPO (General Post Office) — the country's central postal hub.
Using the wrong postcode can cause delays, misrouting, or even returned mail. Always double-check the code for the specific post office or thana you are sending to — especially for official documents, government forms, e-commerce deliveries, and international packages.
