Formula explained

Bangladesh Board GPA calculation

First, add the grade points of all compulsory subjects. For the optional subject, only the amount above GP 2.00 is added. Divide the resulting total by the number of compulsory subjects, then cap the final value at 5.00.

GPA = (Mandatory GP Total + max(Optional GP − 2, 0)) ÷ Mandatory Subject Count

Compulsory failure rule

An F in any non-optional subject immediately makes the overall result fail, and the calculator displays GPA 0.00.

Fourth-subject example

If the optional subject grade is A+ (GP 5.00), the bonus is 5.00 − 2.00 = 3.00 points.

Editable subject presets

Subject combinations vary by institution and curriculum. The presets are convenient starting lists—you can rename, add, remove, or reassign the optional subject before calculating.
