FocusGuard Pro is designed to work locally. It does not require an account, run advertising trackers, sell data, or send your block list to the developer.
1. Information stored by the extension
FocusGuard stores the websites you choose to block, your extension settings, pause status, and local block counters in Chrome extension storage on your device. This information is used only to provide the website-blocking features you request.
2. Website access permission
The extension requests access to website addresses so Chrome's Declarative Net Request system can match navigation against your personal block list and redirect blocked visits. FocusGuard does not read page content, form entries, passwords, messages, or files from websites.
3. Hosted blocked page
By default, blocked navigation may be redirected to the FocusGuard blocked page hosted on GitHub Pages. The blocked domain is included in the page URL so the page can display which site was blocked. You can switch to the built-in offline blocked page from extension settings.
4. Data sharing and sale
FocusGuard does not sell, rent, or share personal information. The project does not include advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics, or third-party tracking scripts.
5. Backup files
When you export a backup, Chrome creates a JSON file containing your block list and settings. You control where that file is stored and who can access it.
6. External links
The website and extension include links to kawshik.dev, GitHub, and Buy Me a Coffee. Those services operate under their own privacy policies when you visit them.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the extension's functionality changes. The revision date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
